Since he was twelve, a living shadow with burning red eyes has come for James Lassiter every single night.

No one believed him. His father tried to have him committed. So James ran from Killeen, Texas with no money and no help. Every night he fought the thing in the dark, and neither of them won.

Now, at seventeen, he’s been labelled an Extremely Dangerous Superhuman, Class Two. In an abandoned warehouse, a black-ops kill team has orders to hunt him down and leave no witnesses.

With guns aimed at his head, the monster that has hunted him for five years does something it has never done before. It turns to face the soldiers and stands between them and James.

Is the shadow his enemy, his curse, or the only one who has ever been on his side? To survive the night, James has to fight alongside the thing he’s spent his life trying to destroy.

Pure martial-arts mayhem, and a dark, gripping start to the legend of Shadowstrike.
